Exit through the back door

 

Tom tried the backdoor, thinking he could sneak away. He pushed the door slowly, it moving a couple of inches, only to meet some resistance. He began to push harder, but nothing came of it. Something was on the other side of that door and it wasn’t moving.

 

Tom retreated, exasperated that his avenues of escape had been reduced. He had to reconsider.
